Building Measurement Survey FAQ’s
Why should I have my building or the space we occupy, measured?
Buildings will change over time as the needs of the tenants, or occupants change. The initial building plans and area information can become outdated quickly when many different renovations or projects occur over the building’s lifecycle. This will almost always lead to the area being calculated improperly and impacting someone’s bottom line. A fresh measurement or re-measurement by an unbiased, independent third party is always a good idea.
When is a good time to have my building or space measured?
Any time is a good time to have your space measured, but the best time is at the beginning of a new lease agreement or during the due diligence process. As more time passes, mistakes and incorrect area information only get worse and more difficult to correct.
How does Florida Measures measure my building or space? Is it disruptive to the occupants?
Our process is un-obtrusive to building occupants, as we use high accuracy laser distance meters and a mobile CAD workstation to help us get around quietly and quickly.
How long will it take to measure our building or space?
It depends on how much space there is to measure, but more importantly how dense the build-outs are of the property. Based on the level of detail required, or the more rooms there are to measure, the longer the measuring will take to complete.
What about high security areas?
If necessary, we can measure with security personnel present.
Is there anything I need to do before Florida Measures arrives to begin work?
The occupants or tenants will need to be notified in accordance with their lease. Once they have been notified by you, we will co-ordinate a time with you to visit the premises.
